I attended SEMO with emphasis in accounting and spent the next 12 years working in the field of accounting and taxes. In 1985 when my second child was born I was looking for a way to make some income and still have time for my children. I started the bookkeeping and tax service in a spare bedroom of the house and it grew from there. In 2005 I took and passed the Enrolled Agent exam. Today we have two offices that do a total 1800 tax returns annually. I am on the board of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce currently serving as president (2013). I am a member of the "National Association of Enrolled
Agents", and the "American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers". |

I studied accounting in both high school and college but worked as a secretary before coming to work here. I started working for Koehler Bookkeeping at the front desk and after 2 years moved on to preparing tax returns and processing bookkeeping for clients. In 2012, I completed a Tax Preparation Program and also passed the RTRP exam, which designates me as a "Registered Tax Return Preparer" with the IRS. I am also a member of the "National Association of Tax Preparers". I, along with the other preparers here at Koehler's,
attend a minimum of 15 hours of Continuing Education each year, with
an emphasis in Tax Law and Ethics. I enjoy the work I do. My
goal is to provide each of my clients with great customer service, the
greatest possible refund the correct way, and up to date, hassle free
bookkeeping. |

I spent eight years on active duty including a tour in Vietnam. I was also in the U.S Navy Reserve for four years and the U. S. Air Force Reserve for six years and six years in the Colorado National Guard. I am heavily involved in the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and will always have a soft spot in my heart for those who have dedicated a part of their life to defending the country that I love. After 24 years in the military I retired. As a civilian I have worked in sales, purchasing and training
before becoming a tax preparer. I attended Indiana University earning
my degree in 1982. I have been preparing tax returns since 2001 and
qualified as Registered Tax Return Preparer the first year that the program
was available. I am also a NATP member. |
